Safe & Insured Party Rentals in Lakeland, FL

We're Mark and Amanda, and Waterslides Tents & Events is our family business. We've been setting up water slides, bounce houses and tents around Lakeland and Polk County since June 2024. We're licensed, we're insured, and we're SIOTO certified. This page puts all of that in one spot, so you don't have to ask.

Why insurance matters in Florida

Florida's amusement ride law (Section 616.242) doesn't inspect inflatables and doesn't require rental companies to carry insurance for them. That means anyone can buy a bounce house and start renting it out, and some people do.

Most of the time nothing goes wrong. But if a guest gets hurt or a unit damages a building, you want the company that set it up to have coverage, so the bill doesn't land on you, your church or your school.

A lot of venues around here already know this. The City of Lakeland asks for $1 million in insurance for inflatables at city events. Polk County park pavilions and Polk County schools ask for a certificate of insurance before the rental shows up. Getting one from us is easy.

Whoever you book with, it's fair to ask them for proof of insurance before your party.

SIOTO certified

SIOTO (Safe Inflatable Operators Training Organization) trains and certifies inflatable rental companies on safe setup and operation. We hold SIOTO's Advanced Inflatable Safety Operations certification. You don't have to take our word for it. Click the seal to check it on SIOTO's website.

How we keep things safe

  • Every unit gets anchored. We stake into grass, or use weights on hard surfaces where stakes can't go. We don't leave a unit standing without it.
  • We follow the wind limits. Every inflatable has a maximum wind rating from the manufacturer. If winds get close to it, the unit comes down. See our Rental Rules for details.
  • We check before we leave. Each unit is cleaned and looked over before it goes out, and again at setup.
  • We walk you through it. Before the kids get on, we go over the rules with the adult in charge: how many kids at once, keeping similar sizes together, no flips, and no shoes or sharp objects.
  • An adult watches at all times. Someone 18 or older needs to stay with the inflatable the whole time it's in use.
  • Power done right. The blower needs an outlet close by: within 50 feet is best, 75 feet max.

Questions from churches, schools and parks

Can you add our church or school as additional insured?

Yes. Tell us the exact name that needs to be on the certificate and where to send it. Call or text 863-581-0655 and we'll take care of it.

Our school district needs paperwork before the event. Can you help?

Yes. Polk County schools ask for a certificate of insurance, and we're happy to provide one. Let us know early and we'll get it to whoever handles vendor paperwork for your school.

Can we set up at a city or county park?

Often, yes. Each park has its own rules, so check with the park when you reserve. City of Lakeland events ask for $1 million in insurance, and Polk County pavilions ask for a certificate. We can send what they need. There's a $125 park fee, and if there's no outlet close enough, you can add a generator.

What happens if the weather turns?

If wind or lightning makes it unsafe, we shut the unit down. Safety comes first, even mid-party. Our cancellation policy explains how weather changes are handled.
